Van 1 september tot en met 13 oktober 2013 presenteert Noorderlicht zes tentoonstellingen met het werk van 74 fotografen uit de hele wereld. Dit fotografisch event vindt plaats op een indrukwekkende nieuwe culturele locatie: de oude Suikerfabriek in Groningen.
Gedurende de gehele festivalperiode kunnen bezoekers van de manifestatie – al dan niet gewapend met camera – het terrein beleven en ervaren. Juist het samengaan van ruige stadsnatuur met restanten van het industriële verleden geven het Suikerfabriekterrein een bijzonder en fotogeniek karakter. Bij uitstek een locatie waar Noorderlicht zich thuis voelt.
