Aaaaaaaand we’re back! Vlog nummertje #3 is van afgelopen vrijdag toen we alle leuke winkeltjes van Brighton indoken en fish & chips aten op het strand…

    Oe…..die taartjes! Dat lemon-dingetje van Tom ziet er echt verrukkelijk uit. En jullie kleren zijn inderdaad Tof (zelfs in de schaduw…;-)!

      Omdat de pond sinds het Brexit nieuws vrij hard gedaald is (omgerekend €1,10 ongeveer) valt het enorm mee. Boodschappen zijn prima te doen en buiten de deur eten is ook niet duur als je het bij de eetcafeetjes houdt (drankjes zijn het duurst). Afgelopen woensdag bijvoorbeeld aten we bij de pub om de hoek, twee keer ‘bangers & mash’ met jus en doperwten, een pint bier en een appelsap was in totaal twintig pond. Dat lukt je in Nederland denk ik niet, haha. Verder is alles makkelijk beloopbaar vanaf waar wij zitten, dus aan openbaar vervoer zijn we ook bijna niks kwijt. Wonen is het duurst, we huren zes weken een huis via Airbnb voor iets minder dan €3.000. Dat is een stuk duurder dan onze hypotheek thuis natuurlijk, maar €500 per week voor een héél huis met twee badkamers, twee slaapkamers (voor logees) en een tuintje is voor een vakantiehuis eigenlijk wel weer een koopje. En daar kon de kat óók nog mee naartoe. En tenslotte werken Tom en ik hier doordeweeks halve dagen. ’s Ochtends een paar uurtjes werken en ’s middags leuke dingen doen. Zo trekken we de extra kosten ook weer een beetje recht. ;) Één van de voordelen van freelancer zijn!
