Gastblog door Vera – Als klein meisje was ik he-le-maal gek op paaseieren zoeken en vooral beschilderen. We hadden er vroeger van die speciale houdertjes met ingebouwde waterverf voor en vlak voor pasen gingen mijn grote zus en ik all-out. Ik moet toegeven dat ik me de laatste keer dat ik paaseieren heb gezocht of beschilderd eigenlijk niet meer kan herinneren. Maar toen ik op pinterest deze DIY tegenkwam (die je leert hoe je geprinte foto’s kunt overbrengen op een doodnormaal ei) begon mijn paashart sneller te kloppen. Dat moest ik ook proberen. Maar dan anders. En dat resulteerde in de DIY die ik vandaag met jullie wil delen: Geïllustreerde paaseieren!
Je hebt nodig:
☆ Witte eieren.
☆ Een inkjet printer.
☆ De printable.
☆ Tissues (ja, gewoon die uit een doos).
☆ Mod Podge (verkrijgbaar bij de betere hobbywinkel).
☆ Schaar.
☆ Temporary tape of masking tape.
☆ Een schuimkwast.
☆ Acrylverf of acrylstiften (optioneel).
☆ ‘Gewone’ kwasten (optioneel).
Zo doe je het:
Kook de eieren hard en laat ze helemaal afkoelen. Download vervolgens de printable hier.
Dat was het makkelijke deel. Dan gaan we nu over op the tricky part. Neem een tissue uit de doos en bekijk hem goed. Waarschijnlijk bestaat hij uit verschillende laagjes. Haal deze laagjes uit elkaar en zorg dat je één enkel laagje overhoudt. Plak dat ene laagje tissue met temporary tape of masking tape zo strak mogelijk in het midden van een vel normaal printerpapier. Belangrijk: Plak de tape helemaal rondom de tissue! Zorg dat er geen randjes of hoekjes zijn die niet zijn vastgeplakt op het papier, anders loop je het risico dat de printer de tissue kapottrekt en dat wil je niet!
Voer het papier met de tissue erop geplakt bij voorkeur in via de handinvoer van je printer (als je niet weet of je printer die heeft of waar die zit, kijk dan even in de gebruiksaanwijzing) en print de printable op de tissue. De kans is groot dat er op bepaalde plaatsen wat kleine inktvlekjes of vegen ontstaan zoals je hieronder ziet bij beide kuikens. Dat is niet erg en dat komt omdat de tissue nooit helemaal vlak ligt. Ik heb de printable zelf een paar keer uitgeprint tot ik alle illustraties uiteindelijk één keer ‘vlekvrij’ uit de printer heb gekregen. Laat de print even een paar minuten drogen voor je (voorzichtig!) de tissue losmaakt van het papier. Het kan zijn dat de tissue scheurt terwijl je dit doet, maar zolang je de illustraties niet scheurt is dat geen probleem.
Nu kun je de illustraties gaan uitknippen. Dat hoeft niet heel precies, maar probeer een zo klein mogelijk witrandje aan de zijkanten over te houden.
Pak je eieren er gezellig bij, want het leukste deel van deze DIY kan beginnen. Smeer je ei op de plaats waar je een illustratie wilt hebben in met een laagje Mod Podge (dit is een lijm en vernis in één die transparant opdroogt). Je kunt dit het beste met een schuimkwast doen, omdat de harde haren van een normale kwast in een later stadium snel de tere tissue kapotmaken. Geen schuimkwast in huis? De zachte kant van een schuursponsje doet ook prima dienst als schuimkwast-zonder-stokje.
Pak nu de illustratie die je wilt gebruiken en leg hem voorzichtig op de plaats waar je de Mod Podge hebt gesmeerd. Je kunt hem nog best een beetje verschuiven, maar doe dat met beleid zodat de tissue niet scheurt. Druk hem dan zachtjes aan met je vingers en probeer eventuele rimpels zo goed mogelijk weg te werken.
Tevreden met het resultaat? Mooi! Smeer dan nu nog een laagje Mod Podge over de tissue-illustratie heen. Of smeer het hele ei in als je een gelijke hoeveelheid vernis op je ei wilt hebben. Vooral als je kiest voor Mod Podge met glans (ik heb de matte versie gebruikt) zal je goed het verschil zien tussen waar je het hebt aangebracht en waar niet. Je kunt het beste vanuit de binnenkant van de illustratie naar buiten werken, zodat je niet tegen de randjes van de illustratie in strijkt. Je illustratie lijkt nu bedolven onder een laag witte meuk, maar geloof me; het komt goed, want Mod Podge droogt, zoals gezegd, transparant op.
Klaar? Zet je ei dan weg om te drogen. Tip: Rolletjes masking-tape zijn perfecte ei-houders! Hier kun je je ei in laten drogen terwijl je verder gaat met de andere eieren. Ik heb er zelf (zoals je op de foto’s al hebt kunnen zien) 6 kunnen decoreren met de hoeveelheid illustraties op de printable.
Ga dus zo door tot je illustraties op zijn, je eieren allemaal versierd of simpelweg tot je geen zin meer hebt.
Zijn al je eieren helemaal droog? Dan kun je als finishing touch met acrylverf of acrylstiften de eieren nog wat extra schwung geven. Ik maakte met de achterkant van een satéprikker stipjes, maar je kunt natuurlijk allerlei leuks bedenken. Laat de creatieve paashaas in jezelf los en maak er wat leuks van!
