This week I gave my radiator cat bed a big make-over with minimal effort.
Ik heb nooit begrepen waarom veel spullen voor huisdieren zo lelijk zijn. Zoals het radiatormandje van Flappie. Ik besloot de viezige blauw pluche stof te vervangen voor een lekker zacht en mooier stofje!
Dit is hoe het mandje eruit zag, beetje triest gezicht, vond ik.

Kijk nou eens hoeveel verschil het maakt!
En zolang het stofje maar lekker zacht en een beetje elastisch is, wordt de kat er ook blij van!

Hieronder laat ik zien hoe makkelijk het is om je mandje toonbaar te maken:
Here’s the super easy D.I.Y.:
1 – Verwijder de stof van het ijzeren binnenwerk. Bij dit mandje was de stof open aan de achterkant, waardoor ik het er gewoon vanaf kon schuiven. Heb je een dichte achterkant? Knip deze dan open aan de achterzijde van het mandje, zodat je een soort zak overhoudt.

2 – Spreid de stof die je wilt gebruiken op de grond (Ik gebruikte een fleece kleedje van de HEMA). Leg de oude bekleding erop en meet uit hoeveel stof je nodig hebt. Aangezien het een zakmodel is, heb ik 2 x de lengte van de ouden bekleding genomen.

3 – Knip deze op maat. Het fijne aan fleece is dat het niet gaat rafelen!
Cut it.
4 – Vouw de stof dubbel in de lengte en naai beide zijkanten vast, zodat je weer een soort zak krijgt. En schuif deze weer om het ijzeren binnenwerk. Klaar ben je!
Fold it in length and sew up the sides, leaving the backside open. Slide it back on the cat bed. That’s it, you’re done!
Resultaat: Het ligt prima voor de kat en oogt mooi voor de baas!
Result: A comfy cat bed, which is easy on the eye!

Die van ons hangt precies onder de eettafel en eigenlijk zien we hem dus amper. En daarnaast is hij donkergrijs en dat past eigenlijk best bij ons interieur. Natuurlijk kan ik wel een leuker stofje verzinnen en zoals je laat zien is het super simpel. Maar denk niet dat ik het ga doen. De katten gebruiken dat ding eigenlijk helemaal nooit.
Als ie uit het zicht hangt en de kleur goed bij t interieur past en de katten er geen gebruik van maken, dan zou ik er ook de moeite niet doen om ‘m een make-over te geven, haha!

Als ik iets maak voor de katten dan blieven ze dat niet, ze zoeken de vreemdste plekken op om te gaan liggen, maar in leuke mandjes, kleedjes etc. nee hoor!
Wauw wat leuk! Katten dingen zijn vaak zo lelijk maar dit is echt een super idee! De krabpaal is hier ook zo’n doorn in ’t oog maar die is hier echt noodzakelijk, misschien moet ik daar ook maar eens wat op verzinnen.
Wat een leuk idee! Die mandjes vielen hier niet in de smaak, maar ik ga zo eens kijken hoe het pluche aan de onderkant van de krabpaal vast zit/eraf kan ^^
