Gastblog door Noortje – Het was vrijdag laat in de middag en eigenlijk was het al tijd om naar huis te gaan en weekend te vieren, toen er opeens een mailtje binnen floepte van de enige echte Olga van Team Confetti. Het eerste wat ik zag was het onderwerp van het mailtje: ‘Gastbloggen voor teamconfetti maybe…?’ Eerlijk, na het mailtje in één ruk uit te lezen voelde ik me drie dingen tegelijk: surprised, excited and a bit terrified at the same time. Dit mailde ik ook terug aan Olga, inclusief mijn gezichtsuitdrukking van dat moment, die ik jullie ook niet zal onthouden…
Na wat heen en weer gemail, wat geruststellende woorden van Olga was ik al iets minder terrified en vooral excited. Ik ben er klaar voor om wat meer over mezelf te vertellen, here it goes:
Ik heet dus Noortje, Noortje Bosma. Ik ben 23 jaar en woon in Rotterdam.
Oorspronkelijk kom ik uit Wormer, dat is een klein dorpje boven Amsterdam in Noord-Holland. Ik ben opgegroeid tussen het water, het weiland, de bootjes en de koeien.
Ik ben Illustrator en was student illustratie aan de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam. Vorige zomer ben ik afgestudeerd en besloot toen gelijk voor mezelf te beginnen onder het mom van: als ik het nu niet doe, dan doe ik het nooit. Sommigen van jullie hebben mijn werk misschien al voorbij zien komen op Team Confetti, ik heb namelijk één van de patronen ontworpen die straks in de TC Agenda te zien zal zijn. Verder werk ik nog bij ontwerpbureau Hoog en Diep in Rotterdam. Zij hebben mij begeleid tijdens mijn afstuderen en na afloop ben ik blijven plakken.

Voor al mijn illustraties werk ik met papier. Dit is ontstaan in het derde jaar van mijn studie en heb ik verder ontwikkeld tijdens mijn stage bij Studio Bomboland in Lucca, Italië.
Als ik van één ding blij wordt, dan is het wel van kleur. De objecten in mijn illustraties vormen altijd een bont gezelschap, daar word ik (en mijn klanten) erg gelukkig van! Ik illustreer het liefste eten, voorwerpen en flora en fauna. Ik ben een ramp met karakters en vermijd het liefst de aanwezigheid van mensen in mijn illustraties. Humans, you scare me! Op dit moment werk ik vanuit mijn geïmproviseerde studio thuis. Wanneer ik aan het werk ben leef ik dus in een ontploffing van kleur, best gezellig. Maar liever zou ik in een studio buitenshuis werken. En dus ben ik samen met een vriendinnetje op zoek naar een ruimte in Rotterdam waar we een gezamenlijke studio van kunnen maken. Nog wat meer weetjes over mij:
♥ Mijn vriendje heet Nick en hij is bijna afgestudeerd als zeeman. Af en toe gaan we samen naar Ikea en adopteren we daar een kindje (lees: knuffel). Gelukkig vinden we niet altijd een leuke, anders was deze daad van liefde al lang geëscaleerd.
♥ Ik houd ervan kleinschalige festivalletjes te bezoeken zoals het Bizar Bazaar festival in Rotterdam afgelopen zomer met mijn vader.
♥ Ik zit op dit moment in een vossenperiode. Ik heb een vossenkleedje, een vossentrui, een vossenkussen en zelfs een vossen-onesie. Mijn kerstkaart voor dit jaar is in vossenthema (jullie hebben de online primeur!)
♥ Ik bak af en toe een bananenbrood, ontbijt vrij regelmatig met quinoa of havermout en eet vooral veel groente als avondeten. Op het moment dat er markt is, ben ik daar vaak te vinden. In Rotterdam is er een heel fijne grote waar ik mijn groente en fruit haal. Met het fotograferen en editen van mijn eten ben ik doorgaans veel langer bezig dan het opeten zelf…
♥ Ik ben gezegend met een prachtig parkje grenzend aan mijn achtertuin waar ik in de zomer af en toe yoga doe. Laatst leerde ik tijdens een rondleiding dat er een walnotenboom en vijgenboom staat. Nu raap ik af en toe walnoten die ik dan vervolgens weer in mijn oatmeals verwerk.
♥ Ik houd heel erg van dansen, ik doe gerust al dansend mijn boodschappen wanneer er een leuk nummer op staat.
Wat je kan gaan verwachten van mijn blogposts:
Voor mijn eerste blogpost had ik eigenlijk al meteen heel veel ideeën, waarvan dit waarschijnlijk de eerste wordt: ‘How to ‘paper’ up your life’. Oftewel, hoe kan je met behulp van papier je omgeving een simpele make-over geven. Die houden jullie dus van mij tegoed. Verder ben ik van plan een illustratie-special te schrijven en de rest houd ik nog even voor me ;). Verwacht artikelen waardoor je nieuwe dingen leert kennen. DIY’s met een hoog easy peasy lemon squeezy gehalte. Hier en daar een tutorial of free usable, en vooral veel kleur!
