Blogconfession: ik heb geen laptop. Dat is toch van de gekke, een blogger zonder laptop? ‘Maar hoe moet je dan freelancen in hippe koffietentjes?! Of werken in de trein?!’ Hoor ik je denken. Nou, dat ging dus niet zo heel handig. Maar ik heb een oplossing gevonden… ;)
Ik had ooit wel een fijne laptop. Gekregen toen ik 17 was en ging studeren. Maar dat is meer dan tien jaar geleden (slik) en diezelfde laptop maakt nu het geluid van een opstijgende helicopter/wasmachine/luidruchtig-apparaat-naar-keuze, is traag en kan geen updates meer aan. Tom heeft een laptop die ik best mag lenen, maar die weegt net zoveel als ikzelf en dat is lastig als je ‘on the go’ bent.
Om een lang verhaal kort te maken: ik ben laptoploos. En aangezien ik nog geen bakken met geld verdien (er is wel een stijgende lijn, voor wie het interesseert) en er geen bedrijven in de rij staan om er eentje door mij te laten reviewen (aaaah toe? anybody?) ging ik voor de quick fix: een los toetsenbord voor bij onze iPad. Want die hebben we dan weer wel. Een puik plan, want de momenten wanneer ik vooral een laptop mis, is als ik in de trein zit of als ik zin heb om stukjes te schrijven op de bank (#lazyblogger). Ik heb een hele mooie werkkamer met een fijne computer helemaal voor mij alleen, dus mij hoor je niet klagen. Maar af en toe zou een laptop toch wel handig zijn…
Van smartphonehoesjes.nl mocht ik een supersonisch toetsenbord uitproberen. Awesome! Om hem meteen in het diepe te gooien, nam ik hem mee in de trein. Ik dacht dat als ik hem daar in mijn eentje aan de praat kreeg, hij direct geslaagd zou zijn voor de gebruiksvriendelijkheidstest. Tom is namelijk een meganerd met als gevolg dat ik de ballen verstand heb van alles wat een stekkertje heeft. Voordat ik ook maar ‘boe’ of ‘ba’ kan zeggen heeft meneer alweer een draadloos netwerk aangesloten of losse kabeltjes aan elkaar vastgelast. Low and behold, ik had het ding binnen drie minuten aan de praat. Via Bluetooth nog wel! Go me! Nouja, go toetsenbord vooral. Het was echt heel simpel, ahum.
De gebruiksvriendelijkheid is prima. Je kunt je iPad makkelijk erin steken en beginnen met typen (hij onthoudt de connectie met je iPad). Heel af en toe blijft hij bij een lettertje hangen maar dat is geen ramp. Als je klaar bent, klik je de iPad op het toetsenbord en wordt het een sleek pakketje. Ideaal om mee te nemen in je tas. Ik heb hem al met veel plezier gebruikt in de trein en toen ik ziek op de bank lag. Het typen gaat veel sneller en je kunt een prettigere houding aannemen dan als je rechtstreeks op je iPad typt.
Kortom: deze gadget zorgt ervoor dat ik toch nog buitenshuis teksten kan schrijven zonder lamme handjes te krijgen (en zonder dat ik een fortuin op hoef te hoesten voor een nieuwe laptop). En hij ziet er ook nog blits uit, wat wil een mens nog meer?
Die toffe lui van smartphonehoesjes.nl waren niet alleen zo lief om mijn laptoploze bestaan te verhelpen, maar ik mag ook nog eens iemand van jullie blijmaken met een shoptegoed van €20!
