Deze week een ode aan Harrie en Eefje, de hondjes waarmee ik ben opgegroeid. Beide Jack Russel, beide lichtelijk gestoord, maar ontzettend lief!
Harrie was echt een kereltje, beetje stoer doen enzo. Maar door zijn roze omrande oog bleef hij altijd de puppy look behouden.
Ook was hij zeer alert, vooral wanneer er eten in de buurt was! Harrie is vorig jaar overleden, ik mis ‘m, maar hij was oud en heeft een mooi leventje gehad.
Eefje is geobsedeerd door haar bal. Vroeger kon ze er uren mee spelen, het liefste met iemand erbij. Maar als er niemand was om de bal te gooien, gooide ze de bal van de trap en probeerde ze ‘m zo snel mogelijk weer te pakken!
Eefje heeft wel iets van een vosje, altijd bezig met graven en geurtjes in de tuin. Ook heeft ze hele mooie hazelnoot kleurige ogen en stipjes in haar vacht, als een hertje. Helaas is ook Eefje al erg oud met kwalen en zal ze volgende week worden ingeslapen. Vandaag afscheid van haar genomen. Het is gek, ik woon al jaren niet meer thuis, maar het blijft voelen als mijn hondje…

Wat een superlieve en mooie ode! Ik kan me niet indenken dat ik ooit de poesjes bij mij thuis moet afgeven – ook al woon ik niet meer bij m’n ouders thuis – het blijft toch raar en gek en vies, hé? Koester de herinneringen!
